Excavations of Metaponto

The archaeological area of Metaponto, however, is located a few kilometers from the Lucanian Ionian coast and is about 44 km from Amendolara. Excavations in the area made it possible to bring to light the ruins of the ancient Greek colony of Metaponto from the 6th century BC. about. The area is also known as the Metaponto Archaeological Park.
